LAS VEGAS CENTENNIAL AIR PARADE TAKES FLIGHT OVER LAS VEGAS STRIP

WHAT: Mayor Oscar Goodman kicks-off the Las Vegas Centennial Air Parade that will feature more than 20 planes, ranging from warbirds to vintage aircraft, will take flight in what will be the first parade of this magnitude in the cityıs history.

The rare sight will be celebrating another historic milestone, the 85th Anniversary of the first passenger flight to Las Vegas. Randall Henderson, WWI pilot and barnstormer, was the first person to fly into Las Vegas, Nevada on May 7, 1920.

WHO: Friday, Press Conference Attendees Include:
Mayor Oscar Goodman, chairman of the Las Vegas Centennial
Randall H. Walker, director of Clark County Department of Aviation
Mark Hall-Patton, historian and administrator at Senator Howard Cannon Aviation Museum
Dan Stark, director of marketing at Boyd Gaming Corporation

A variety of planes participating in the air parade will be on hand enabling attendees to get up close and personal. Several pilots, historians and aviation experts will also be available for interviews.

Stardust Resort & Casino rooftop secured as vantage point for air parade, no scheduled formal announcements / speakers.

WHEN: Friday, May 6 from 1:30 p.m. -- 2:00 p.m. PRESS CONFERENCE
Saturday, May 7 10:00 a.m. -- 10:30 a.m. AIR PARADE
* Air Parade Media Vantage Point, Stardust Rooftop -- please arrive between 9:00 -- 9:30 a.m. to allow time for transport / set-up

WHERE: Friday, May 6 -- North Las Vegas Airport, Main Terminal
2730 Airport Drive, North Las Vegas
Saturday, May 7 -- Stardust Resort & Casino, Media Check-In at Front Desk (access at main entrance off Las Vegas Blvd.)

NOTES: KQOL Radio 93.1 FM will broadcast the air parade live from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
