Centennial kicks into high gear with Saturday, May 14, events

Helldorado Queens Reunion
What: Seventeen past Helldorado Queens and four Moulin Rouge chorus girls, both from the early 1950s and later will reunite for a group photo opportunity before being featured in classic cars in the Helldorado parade.
When: 8:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
Where: Limericks Steakhouse on the second floor Fitzgeralds Casino & Hotel,
301 E. Fremont Street
Helldorado Days Parade
What: The Centennial will revive Las Vegasš famous Helldorado Days parade
with more than 200 entries, including 28 school bands
When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Downtown Parade Route on Fourth Street
Note: Mayor Oscar Goodman will be available for one-on-one media interviews following the parade. Media check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. near Fourth Street and Bonneville Avenue. Media should park on Bonneville between Third and Fourth streets. Arrive early, as parking is limited and is on a first come basis.
"The Best is Yet to Come ..." Historic Post Office Gala
What: This gala honoring Lloyd George and celebrating the Post Modern Cultural Center will feature music by Count Basiešs Orchestra, singer Nnenna Freelon and catering by Andrešs French Restaurant
When: 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Where: Downtown Post Office, 301 Stuart Avenue near Fourth Street
Chubby Checker Concert
What: Chubby Checker & the Wildcats will take to the Fremont Street
Experience stage as part of the Centennialšs Salute Helldorado Days.
When: 9 p.m.
Where: Fremont Street Experience, 425 Fremont Street, First Street Stage
