City of Las Vegas Host Two Helldorado Barbeques

Don your western attire for a country good time at two pre-Helldorado barbeques sponsored by the Cultural Affairs Division of the city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services. Country music, western entertainment, children's activities, and best cowboy/cowgirl contests kick off preparations for the return of Helldorado, in honor of Las Vegas' centennial birthday.

The first picnic will be held on Saturday, April 9, at Estelle Neal Park, in the northwest part of the city, Rebecca Road and Tropical Parkway. The second will take place at Jaycee Park, Eastern Avenue and St. Louis Avenue on Saturday, April 30. Both events are from 12 to 2 p.m. and are free.

John Encinio and the Full House Band perform country hits, from George Jones to George Strait, at Estelle Neal while country band Wolf Creek takes the stage at Jaycee Park. Cowboy Mark Allen will bring his trick roping, whip cracking and gun spinning skills to both parks. There will be free barbeque from Memphis Championship Barbeque while supplies last. Call 229-4614 for information.
