Kangaroo Court Has Its Repeat Offenders
By Sue Keliiheeua, Las Vegas
Back in 1963, during Helldorado Days, my husband and I wanted to go to the Golden Nugget where they had the best country music.
Having two small kids, and not wanting to pay for a baby sitter, we took them downtown with us. But because we didn't purchase Helldorado badges for them, they got tossed in the "hoosegow".
The kids loved being in jail, we got to listen to some great music and never had to pay for baby-sitting. After that, Helldorado became an annual event for us.
