Remembrances of Parades Past
By Jack Mino, Walden, NY

I'm 55 years old and live in New York State now, but I can still remember the great times my family and I had with our friends at Helldorado.

I remember there used to be four days of parades, and all the major hotels would try to out-do each other. The showgirls and entertainers threw candy and trinkets to the kids. And one year "Robbie-the-Robot" was on a float.

The Sunday parade was the best with participants from all the other parades joining in a big parade. Then after the last float passed by, everyone would go down to Cashman Field for a big carnival.

I would really like to read more of others' remembrances, as that was a happy time in my life. I would also like to see pictures of that time in the '50s and '60s.
