The Centennial Committee's vision was to create a magnificent celebration to reflect the diversity and uniqueness of our community.

Our mission was to educate, celebrate and commemorate. We met that mission by sharing stories about the rise of a small town to a big city, and recalling the unique nature of Las Vegas and its citizens.

We created large and small celebrations to acknowledge Las Vegas' 100th birthday and leave a lasting legacy across the valley-in neighborhoods, hotels, streets and parks, and in the hearts of residents and visitors alike.

Centennial Goals

• Celebrate and commemorate the history and culture of Las Vegas
• Educate, involve, and inspire the community as to the history and culture of Las Vegas
• Leave a legacy for future generations
• Create opportunities for ethnic, faith-based, educational, and civic organizations to participate.
• Design and/or support major centennial events that draw visitors to the community.
