Robert A. Gronauer
Robert A. Gronauer (known to his friends as "Bobby G") was chosen by the International Association of Chiefs of Police as one of the nation's top police officers for his use of innovative and progressive techniques in solving crime problems.
Gronauer served as a police officer in Baltimore before relocating to Las Vegas where he took a position as a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Officer. After serving a total of 30 years in the police force, Bobby retired and ran for Las Vegas Township Constable. He won with more than 90,000 votes.
A Vietnam veteran, Bobby G earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star with a V for Valor. He has been presented with a Humanitarian Award by Seniors United and awarded the Elected Official of the Year Award by the Asian Chamber of Commerce.
In 2002, 38 states were represented at the 21st National Constables' Association Convention hosted by the Las Vegas Township Constable's Office. The convention was a great success, and Bobby G was honored as Constable for the Year 2002.
One of Bobby G's goals is to help taxpayers and voters recognize the constable as their trusted, responsible elected representative. His objectives are to train, educate, and upgrade the quality of performance of the constable and to more clearly define the significant role the constable's office plays in our justice delivery system.
