Mike Varney

Michael V. Varney has been the vice president of marketing for the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce since April 1997. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, having earned a B.A. degree in Communication Arts.

As vice president of marketing for the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Varney supervises a staff of 21 employees. He is responsible for:

• creating the Chamber's annual marketing plan
• organizing all member research projects
• supervising all Chamber communications and public relations
• developing Chamber revenue from the sale of memberships and advertising
• brand development of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce

Mr. Varney serves as chair of the American Chamber of Commerce Executives in Washington, D.C. and vice chair of marketing for the Las Vegas Centennial Commission. Other recent volunteer involvement includes coaching youth ice hockey, mentoring at-risk elementary school students through the Clark County Reads program and serving on the board of the Academy of Information Technology.
