Eloiza Martinez
Since January 2000, Ms. Eloiza Martinez has held the position of assistant vice president for Wells Fargo Bank, working as a community reinvestment officer. In this capacity, she promotes banking and teaches lending and budgeting classes in both English and Spanish. Today she helps individuals understand how the credit world operates.
Ms. Martinez researches the community needs by conducting needs assessments, while using her findings to inform her banking strategies. She also finds time to provide technical assistance to several non-profit organizations.
After a 20-year career with Commercial Credit Corporation, Ms Martinez retired. She then began working in the banking industry, where she has recently reached her 20 years of service. She earned a degree from Mortgage Lending and Commercial Credit FICO, as well as several honors for community service.
Some of her most notable distinctions include the 2001 Latina Award from the Nevada Association of Latin Americans; the 1987 Association of Professional Mortgage Women Member of the Year; an honorable mention from United Way in 1985; 1996 finalist for the Women Achievement Award; 1998 Nevada Minority Purchasing Council Inc.'s Minority Advocate of the Year Award; 2000 Latin Chamber of Commerce Professional of the Year; and most recently, the 2003 Wells Fargo Citizen of Distinction Award.
Ms. Martinez is a past president of NHS of Southern Nevada; board secretary of Nevada Hand, Inc.; vice president of Golden Rule, Inc.; treasurer of the Equal Opportunity Board; past vice president for the Latin Chamber of Commerce; current president for Habitat for Humanity; director for Micro Enterprise Initiative, Inc.
Most recently, Eloiza Martinez was appointed by Governor Guinn to be a member of the Nevada Department of Corrections' Advisory Committee on January 29, 2004.
